Get A Workout While You Walk With Fitflops

When ex personal trainer Marcia Kilgore had problems finding enough time to visit the gym due to her busy lifestyle she decided to take steps to remedy the situation. Working together with the London South Bank University (LSBU) she conceived of and developed a range of fitness shoes known as Fitlops.

These use a specially designed three piece sole called a “microwobbleboard” to provide the wearer with a workout while walking around normally. The heel section is made from a high density material which reduces jarring and impact shock whilst walking. The sole’s central section, from the arch and just behind the toes, uses a low density material. The toe section is manufactured from a medium density material.

The three separate areas, and the different types of materials used, work together to prolong the duration of muscle usage during normal walking. The muscles work for up to 16% longer than normal – which means that every step you take in your Fitflops trims your legs and tones your buttocks.

The Fitflop range was first launched in the UK, after extensive testing and trials at LSBU, in 2006. They were an instant hit and some customers even had to join a waiting list in order to get hold of their Fitflops. To begin with the range consisted mainly of flip flop type sandals. However, customer feedback suggested that other styles were required and the range was expanded. Today, you can choose from a wide selection of Fitflop sandals, boots and clogs in both male and female styles. Some of them look great. There is a great selection of different styles and colors for you to choose from and they’re now available in the USA.

So if you struggle to find enough time to visit the gym, or even if you just find it difficult to motivate yourself to take exercise, then why not consider getting a pair of Fitflops? Just put them on instead of your usual shoes and walk about as normal to get the benefit of exercising your lower body without having to alter your daily routine.
